Insects on canvases – Imagegallery

Submitted on 12. May 2000 – 13:04 Email | Print | PDF |

Artist: DAIM | "Spritz-Wespe" | spraypaint on canvas | 75 x 75 cm | 1998The artist has been fascinated by insects for a long time. Their appearance with clearly divided corpuses and their legs with three joints is completely different to other life forms. Especially their torso is limited in its movement – the points of flexibility are unmistakably defined. Just like letters that can not be altered indefinitely because they have certain joint at which their alteration is limited. This commonness shows itself in the ‚insect styles’.
