DAIM | Volvo Art Session 2013 (Final Edit)
Sunday, 09 June – On the final day of the Volvo Art Session 2013 the graffiti artist DAIM realised a further highlight. In the middle of the white Volvo he first placed a pink star, symbolising the owner. He gradually supplemented the symbol, adding eye-catching style elements in black, grey and green, until the car merged with the background to create a fully-integrated 3D work of art that burst out of the frame. When finally complete, the Art Car looked like an event that had landed at the Main Station from a parallel universe.
Volvo Art Session 2013
The third one at Zurich main station (HB), Switzerland.
From Thursday 6 until Sunday, 9 June 2013, Volvo Switzerland transformed Zurich’s main station (HB) into a real street art studio for the third time. Six major artists with exciting backgrounds from around the world painted, sprayed and shapeed a Volvo XC60 over and over in a live show.
The theme of this unusual series of performances is “Designed around you” – which goes hand in hand with Volvo’s slogan. The direct contact with artists, art and its creation is both an experience and an enriching activity at the same time.
Well-known photographer and film-maker Francesco Carrozzini documented the events at the main station and also creates portraits of the artists themselves. His images will be published in a photo book when the project has finished.
Artists: Lexr & Evoke, Blanda Eggenschwiler, Etam Cru, Koralie & Supakitch, DAIM, Daniel Man.
